Play Group Activities

May 01, 2017 at 5:45 PM

Theres been a lot of interest at educator’s homes around children wanting to write their name and be able to use pens to write with.  So from this observation we set up an activity around letter forming and writing that the children could have a go at.

Children enjoyed the opportunity to experiment how to hold the pen, to follow the dots that formed a letter and even be able to write their name if they wanted to.

Addie was taking an interest, showing her independence, was competent holding the pen and was able to communicate what she was doing and what letter she was writing.

As co-ordinators we were able to model how to extend an interest by setting up the writing activity at play group, plan around the children’s interests and evaluate what was happening.
